Removing a Backup Destination
Overview
When a computer is no longer available as a backup destination or if you want to remove all the data backed up to a destination, you can remove a backup destination. Removing a backup destination permanently deletes ALL backup files stored at the destination. Backup files stored at other destinations are not affected.
You can remove a backup destination using your:
- CrashPlan desktop
- CrashPlan account online (www.dfwdatavault.com)
Use this method if you are not able to access your CrashPlan desktop.
How It Works - From the CrashPlan Desktop
- Click the Backup tab.
- Under Backup Destinations, click on the name of the destination to remove.
- Select the name of the destination to remove.
- Select Remove Backup Destination.
- Read the warning message carefully and confirm that you want to remove the selected destination.
- Click Save.
How It Works - From Your CrashPlan Account Online
- Log into your account at www.dfwdatavault.com
- Click My Account.
- Click My Computers.
- Under Available Destinations, clear the Use check box next to the destination name.
- Click Save.
- Read the warning message carefully and confirm that you want to remove the selected destination.
